Rainbow Chard Bright lights
Rainbow chard has a wonderful array of colours and is a member of the Swiss
It can be used as a whole leaf but can also have the leaf taken off the stalk and is
served as a vegetable and also as the stalks which can be served as a starter with
Nutritional Values; These colours translates to a high levels of Vitamin A , Folate
and is a good source of Vitamin C . Also Vitamin K .Low in Kcalories and high in
These leaves also contain the phytochemicals , carotenoids.
These nutrients are at their optimum levels when they are picked fresh from
your tower and used as quickly as possible
A bunch of rainbow chard (remember it decreases in volume)
1 brown onion
2 tsp balsamic vinegar
Almonds ,pine nuts , raisins or dried cranberries. (optional)
Chop the stalks of the chard into 1 cm pieces
Chop the onion .
Chop the leaves
Put a tablespoon of butter in a saucepan
Melt and add the onion and the staks.
Cook until they soften
Add the leaves and 2 tbls water .put lid on and cook until tender .
Add the balsamic vinegar and an optional ingredient from the list .
Serve with fish , or chicken

You can select three different type of growing medium. By default they will be grown in rockwool but if you want another medium for a different system please select. All three types will work in a TowerGarden.
