Lettuce All Year Round is a butterhead lettuce with lovely compact crisp hearts.

As the name suggests, it can be sown all year round - Autumn sown ones will need to be sown under cover but will be ready to harvest in the spring. Can be sown March-August and excellent for successional sowing and it is slow to bolt.

Home-grown lettuces lose none of their freshness and crispness and are at their best when used straight from the garden. There is no better or fresher way.

Lettuce All Year Round Vegetable Seed Information

Seed Quantity:Approx 900 seeds per pack.
Site:

Prefers well drained, moist rich soil.

When to Sow

March to August.

How to Sow:

Sow thinly 1.5cm deep in rows 25cm apart in a prepared seedbed and lightly cover with fine soil. Seedlings appear in 7-14 days. Thin to about 15cm apart when large enough. Water in carefully. For a continuous crop sow every 2-3 weeks. (Sowings may benefit from cloche or fleece protection and they might benefit from sowing inside in very cold spells and transplanting seedlings outside and then fleecing).

Care:

In spring/summer keep moist especially during dry weather, weed free and protect early sowings with a cloche. Always water in the morning or mid-day as watering in the evening will increase the risk of disease. Watering not as necessary in Winter.

Harvest:Autumn sowings - March to April Spring to Summer - May to July
